Part 1. Purpose
To support colleges and universities in achieving and maintaining institutional and programmatic accreditation and compliance with federal regulations.

Part 2. Accreditation and Communications

Subpart A. System Office
The Academic and Student Affairs Division will assist the colleges and universities with their institutional and required program accreditations in a manner that maximizes operational efficiencies while minimizing undue burdens.

Subpart B. Colleges and Universities
Colleges and universities shall coordinate their institutional and required program accreditation activities with the system office and provide updates on an ongoing basis.

Part 3. Accreditation Updates

Subpart A. Annual Report - Institutional Accreditation
Presidents shall submit an annual report by October 1st to the chancellor on the progress made in addressing any outstanding findings or concerns of the Higher Learning Commission relative to their college or university’s institutional accreditation. The Institutional Status and Requirements Report must be included in the annual report.

Subpart B. Communication and Notifications

  1. College and university presidents shall promptly notify the senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs of any actions, potential actions, and required visits proposed by the Higher Learning Commission, such as:
    1. Off-cycle comprehensive evaluation visits
    2. Substantive change visits
    3. Focused visits
    4. Requirements to submit monitoring reports
    5. Multi-campus or multi-location visits
  2. Colleges and universities shall provide the senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs a copy of all reports to, and responses from, the Higher Learning Commission.

Part 4. Required Program/Specialized Accreditation Update

Subpart A. Annual Report - Program/Specialized Accreditation
Presidents shall report annually to the chancellor on the progress made in addressing any outstanding findings or concerns relative to their college or university’s program/specialized accreditations.

Subpart B. Communication and Notifications

  1. College and university presidents shall promptly notify the senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs of any actions, potential actions, and required visits by any program/specialized accrediting agencies.
  2. Colleges and universities shall provide to the senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs a digital copy of all reports to, and responses from any program/specialized accrediting agencies.
