Two colleges will be aligned under one president this fall
Jessica Stumpf was appointed interim president of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College Wednesday by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees. She is one of two presidents and two interim presidents appointed Wednesday.
Stumpf, 58, has been serving as interim president of Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Beginning in July, Anoka-Ramsey Community College, which has campuses in Coon Rapids and Cambridge, and Anoka Technical College will be aligned under one president to better serve students in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. With the alignment, each college will retain its own name, mission and accreditation.
“Interim President Stumpf brings solid credentials to begin the alignment of these two colleges under one leader,” said Chancellor James H. McCormick. “Her experience in working at a multi-campus college will serve her well here as these colleges continue to improve their programs and services.”
Clarence Hightower, chair of the Board of Trustees’ Human Resources Committee, said, “I am pleased that we have such a strong leader as Jessica Stumpf. I am confident she will help us find ways to improve efficiency and deliver the programs and services needed by the communities served by these colleges.”
“I am honored to have this opportunity to align Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College,” Stumpf said. “I am depending greatly upon the faculty and staff of both institutions to make this alignment successful.”
Stumpf previously served as vice president of academic affairs at Minnesota State College – Southeast Technical; dean of business at Hennepin Technical College; dean of transportation, coordinator of customized training, coordinator of enrollment and marketing, and business instructor, all at Dakota County Technical College; and business instructor at Century College. She earned an associate degree at St. Cloud State University, a bachelor’s degree in business education at Buena Vista University in Iowa, a master’s degree in business administration at Metropolitan State University, and a doctorate in educational policy and administration at the University of Minnesota.
The one-year appointment takes effect July 1. A new search for a permanent president will begin later this year. Shari Olson, interim president of Anoka Technical College, will leave that post June 30 to become president of an Arizona community college.
