ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 4, 2017 – Today Governor Dayton introduced a Bonding Bill that included his recommendation for Higher Education Asset Preservation and Replacement (HEAPR) and bonding projects.
Steven Rosenstone, chancellor of Minnesota State, said:
“The governor’s recommendation demonstrates his continued commitment to our state as well as our state colleges and universities. The projects in his recommendation will build opportunities for students, and they are critical for developing the talent employers need. They are the highest priorities for our campuses.”
Michael Vekich, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:
“Funding for the request from our Board of Trustees will directly benefit our students, enhance the quality of their education, and provide resources needed to maintain critical state assets. We are very grateful for the governor’s support.”
The governor’s recommendation includes the following HEAPR and bonding projects for Minnesota State:
- Systemwide - HEAPR $80,000,000
- South Central College - STEM and Healthcare design and renovation $6,400,000
- Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls ‐ Center for Student and Workforce Success design and renovation $652,000
- Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Wadena ‐ Library and Student Development design and renovation $547,000
- Northland Community and Technical College, East Grand Forks ‐ Laboratory design and renovation $551,000
- Bemidji State University ‐ Academic Learning Center (Hagg Sauer replacement) design and renovation $12,598,000
- Rochester Community and Technical College ‐ Memorial and Plaza Halls removal, design, renovation, and construction $14,475,000
- Hibbing Community College ‐ campus reconfiguration $7,482,000
- Winona State University ‐ Education Village Phase 2, renovation and demolition $16,871,000
- Cloud State University ‐ Student Health and Academic renovation $12,381,000
- Minnesota State University, Mankato ‐ Clinical Sciences Phase 2, design and renovation $4,350,000
- Riverland Community College, Albert Lea – Transportation, Trade and Industrial Education design, construction, and renovation $4,951,000
